Guide contents
Start at the Mod page's Requirements and select the platform branch. Workshop, Steam Win64 UE4SS, PC Game Pass WinGDK, and dedicated server installs are separate flows.
This page keeps platform, version, dependency, and source boundaries visible so a safe test has a clear result.
Follow the smallest useful path.
Read Requirements first
Write down the required loader, dependency, game version note, and client/server role.
Every requirement has a matching source or is explicitly marked unknown.
Select one platform flow
Follow Workshop, Win64, WinGDK, or dedicated-server instructions without mixing their directories.
The chosen path names the platform and install type in the same note.
Launch a small test
Start the game or restart the server after the first install, then test the Mod's stated behavior.
The result is visible in the menu, log, file, or game behavior described by the source.
Workshop or Win64
Choose the Mod's stated route; do not combine Workshop files with manual loader paths by assumption.
WinGDK
Use the WinGDK path evidence and re-check it after loader updates.
Server-side Workshop
Use the server configuration guide and restart after enabling or updating.
Use the symptom to choose the next check.
| Symptom | Check | Recovery |
|---|---|---|
| The chosen path looks right but the Mod is ignored. | Compare the Mod type and platform with the original Requirements. | Undo the copied files and restart from the correct branch. |
| A dependency prompt appears. | Read the Workshop dependency list or Mod page before enabling the item. | Install only the named dependency and repeat the one-change test. |
Questions this source set can answer.
Is subscribing the same as installing every dependency?
No. Workshop items can declare dependencies and the game may need Mod Management enabled before a restart.
Can Xbox console use the Windows Mod loader path?
The cited official loader material lists Windows Steam and Windows dedicated server support; do not infer a console path.
If the current source disagrees with an older tutorial, pause the change and re-check the release, platform, and original Mod page before continuing.
